Happily Ever After Quiz!

Which one (or two)of these fairy tales is your favorite?

In my voluminous research and reading of fairy tales from around the world , I've found that one's most beloved bedtime story can tell a great deal about a person romantically and philosophically. Many wonderful fables exist but the strongest archetypes seem to be found in the below selections.

Please choose one the examples given as your favorite of these seven stories. It's a simple quiz and read the answer-I promise that you will be most enchanted by the results ;)
Thanks,
Amanda
1.Cinderella: You have a even and kind temperment that makes the best of any situation and takes risks. Your love has had to overcome a few obstacles but its all part of life.

2.Snow White: A bit more work than Cinderella. There are quirky little friends, near death experiences and jealously but its all in the story of life and you work it out.

3.Snow white and Rose Red: You just can't choose. You have two best friends, two guys, and want to never settle down and decide. You want to live in the country and tame the bears.

4.Sleeping Beauty: You are so beautiful, royal and asleep! You want to wait for your love to 'wake up.' The wait can be a LONG time!

5.Beauty and The Beast: You want him (or her) to wait for YOUR evil self to change. You expect others to give up years time because you or they feel someday the time will come when they will work through the anger and pain. Hopefully it will be worth the effort and struggle!

6.Rapunzel: You are all about the goddess or god in the ivory tower. You want it all but get nothing. You can gaze, gaze, gaze...climb up and get cast down again. You are always fixated.

7.12 Dancing Princesses: You want all the fun all the time! Boat rides, dances and midnight romps. Life is a giant party and pleasure should never end-why have one when you can have 12?

Hi Supergirl,
WAKE UP go to the blog girl!

Ok, now I'll answer.
Cinderella is my favorite. The underdog wins in the end. Magical.

Speed Racer: You are a brillant filmmaking prince building your kingdom. There is room for a princess but only if she's willing to be patient while you go off to battle with the great Kings and Queens of the realm to save rock n roll. Don't be shocked if she turns up in your tent on occasion though!

Snow white, I'm afraid. Her pals are adorable, and friends mean everything, quirks and all. Devine.

Snow White and Rose Red, but only because that is the version told to German kids; the Grimm Brothers used the castle in my dad's hometown as a model in their stories, so the whole story is rather personal for me that way.
Not that the results are wrong, mind you...

Great post!

Snow White and Rose Red is an amazing story . There was a lavishly illustrated golden book that came out in the 70's that gave the bear prince the coolest sideburns!

It's gotta be Cinderellla. There's identity-masking, a fairy godmother, and the sexiest foot in history.

The only tale that eclipses it in my book is the Nutcracker, which is practically Freudian-erotica. But not really a fairy tale, or is it?

What do you make of the news that PT has penned a song for the new Who album called "Cinderella"? Anyone have any inside scoop?

None of the traditional fairy tale love stories feels quite right to me. My favorite fairy tale would be Hansel and Gretel because I like how the children take on the evil adult villainess and win -- to me, it's a celebration of the power of children's imaginations!

Now for love stories, if we are permitted to select modern fairy tales, I would have to say Russ Meyer's Supervixens! The male protagonist is desired by all manner of lovely ladies who want him for the wrong reasons. Finally, after a gruelling Odyssey of being beat up, having pitchforks hurled at him, being chased by jealous fathers, and almost perishing in the cruel desert at the hands of a dynamite-hurling lunatic, he finds true love in the arms of his Superangel.

Super Vixen: You are a Prince building your kingdom and desire someone at your side. It's a tough search because you are choosy; some days your up and some days your down. You feel as if too many princesses are dealing from a position of strength and that they'll blow your hard earned dough-a shit pile just lay it on the princesses! Still, once you learn how skip the preliminaries, kingdom building will be as easy as procuring Polish dynamite!

Oh my goodness! I LOVE Cinderella but for some nutty reason I loved Rapunzel when I was younger...what a boring story!

Fancy on being in LA when I am there? I will not make SF until the Fall for a film premire. Maybe you can be my other date to that!

Rumplestiltskin: You are the ultimate individual with the most amazing abilities and secrets. You surpassed royalty a long time ago and have left most others in a stampede of dust (gold dust) left by your nimble feet. You pride yourself on trust and having those in your life who honor that. Beware to the straggler who betrays it, they may find the ground they tread upon split in two!

Hm hm...I think I'll pick no. 1. I am indeed kind and very very calm, but I don't like life too predictable!

I once bought a DVD set of Secret Policeman's Ball, with all the benefit shows. Love our Pete's acoustic numbers! Oh, I would like to know what our Peter thinks of the other Peter. I seem to be partial to Englishmen called Peter.

Hmm...I can't make up my mind between Cinderella and Rumplestilskin. lol.
Uh oh. :)
Hey Amanda, you just reminded me - You know who used to freak me out and still does? Um...Hans Christian Andersen! OMG! Even just a couple of years back for fun I read some of his stories to my ex, I'd bought a book that had the complete works, and we were enjoying how scary he really was, how disturbing the lot of his stories! All those traumatizing stories like "the Little match girl", etc. oh Boy!
We loved them. :) Did you read those too?

Oh Lord! Remember the Red shoes, where the little girl's only crime was wanting to wear read shoes on a sunday, then
next thing you know the woodsman has
to cut her feet off to relieve her of these horrible, evil red shoes, and she "goes to heaven" after that? lol
Or how the real little mermaid was a tragic story where it was like walking on knives for her to try to have legs?
Oh jeez. Heheh, sorry, but you inspired me! :)

Oooh! Someone should do a horror movie, a really good horror movie, where it's bascially a few of HCA scariest stories such as the little match girl, the red shoes, etc. But circa 2006. Damn. the movies I'd make if I was a trillionare.
Maybe have the red shoes be a nice pair of...manolo blahniks that she literally stole or robbed to get...lol

OOh it's hard to choose...my favorite of all time is The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Anderson. Can you give us your analysis of that one?
Love,
Sue
(Always the difficult one of the lot!).
