One With Nature: Wichita Lineman Video Shoot

Today I was kissing trees, posing with a Wonder woman lunch pail and then carrying a tire iron about the orchards. There were telephone poles, planes, miles of young corn and grapefruits plus a friendly police officer who never stopped to ask us why we were trespassing ;)
I sang der "Wichita Lineman" and it seemed is if my voice became even deeper which at this point means I could probably make the final five to replace Felipe in The Village People.

So I sang higher and girlie but it was all treacle and treble, so after TEN takes ( nominal by traditional Who/Pete standards)I sort of got it right...actually i think it's flat and odd but oh well I'm doing this with a digital camera, boom box and a dream!

It is the hardest song I will ever sing, opera is actually easier.

On You Tube there is a Sergio Mendes version, a Stone Temple Pilots to a Hall and Oates style synth from 1989 and of course a band from Spain; virtually EVERYONE has covered this song!
Now I have tons of footage to edit and my camerman's tire iron to find somewhere out here in the fields. I don't usually look this mean and hard but I was definitely feeling Varla in Faster Pussycat!Kill!Kill!

God, are you in California now? I was thinking it can't be that green in the UK yet!

It sounds like you had a fun day of shooting. Looking forward to seeing the video eventually. I wonder what the tire iron signifies? :-)

Hi Maria,

The tire iron symbolizes the inner plight of the lineman as he
gets a flat tire on the telephone line of inner emotional exploration
as he works repairing the astral lines of communication through the cereberal galaxy... (or maybe it's that we did not have a proper set of tools on hand!!)

I almost bought that seat at Shoreline but I actually paid off and closed two credit cards instead!

Aw, beautiful pics- Really good, crisp colors, The color in your face, the leaves, everything! I was already looking for the video even though I know you mentioned having to wade through the footage yet.
I understand the perfection drive, as well. If it starts to seem as if all the footage is bad, walk away for awhile. It just means you're tired.
It doesn't mean that the footage is bad, it just means that you're sick of looking at yourself and you need to take a break from editing for awhile. lol
Try to remember this. You may be
judging yourself too harshly in those moments. I'm sure you know this already but just in case. :)

Oh wow- I just read your explanation of the tire iron.
WHOA are you DEEP or what?
Deep and "light" at the same time.
Quelle paradox.
I love it!

Came back to say i just read your comments in Pete's latest chapter and I thought they were very honest and
self-aware. I can't elaborate here. :)
And I was wondering if "BLB" is right one(channel?) to watch for the vid. I think I am subscribed to your channels that would have it. But I'm a little confused about youtube still, anyway. :)

Oops, I meant to say (sorry)
For example - aren't I supposed to be notified when the people that I am subscribed to put up new vids?
This hasn't been happening except for one guy that I regret subscribing to.Keeps spamming me with bulletins, new vids:(

But I haven't been notified of anyone else's. Yours, wisty's, The Family Force 5 continuing series. And yet I've seen newer vids there. :)

Erm, doesn't seem the leaves had long to live. And, well I don't get the tire iron. Probably the answer is on the cd? There's IAC where we could all listen or certainly there's You Tube but I'm truly more of a listener.

I'm also sleepy. Yum-chocolate! But oh-yeah, COFFEE! I need it!

Oh all of you are so kind. i think i actually look like Tura Satana as Varla from
"Faster Pussycat! Kill! Kill!"
a bit which means I look kind of angry, i suppose the tire iron adds to that veneer!

You tube is odd as they have so much crazy, huge daily traffic that stuff can take hours to appear sometimes-even comments.
Just disable your bulletins box in the channel design feature and don't feel you have to subcribe to everyone who subscribes to you. There is not that protocol like My Space has.

Hi Amanda,
first, I'd like to pass on my thanks to your dear Brother for serving in our armed forces. I was not aware he was in Iraq. That must be hard for you.

Wasn't that a special video with the little boy? I love finding videos like that.

I can't wait to see and hear your Wichita Lineman video.

My very best wishes and positive energy to you and your Brother.

Hi Amanda, I don't often do this...

However, I'll make an exception.

You look marvelous!

All the Best, Ed
