Such a tragedy for the circumstances, that she had to die.
Hi luv , dey could have cooled her down wid a sedative arrow , but chose to kill her ... ? It shouldn´t be allowed to keep ´big cats´or big primates in ordinary zoos , dey get aggressive in cramped space ( like us humans, btw. ) In Sweden , ´big cats´ are allowed to be kept in safari parks only , where dey can roam comparatively free . / Thanks for bittersweet poem / Luv ye , doll / Peter

I've been here in SF during the whole thing. While I understand that the police had no choice but to kill her given the snafu of circumstances, my conclusion is that it's time to get rid of zoos and replace them with sanctuaries. She was obviously really stressed and angered by something, and there's no reason to be putting animals through these conditions anymore. Hopefully this will be the catalyst for major changes to all zoos in North America.

shame there are zoos. I was so happy when the London Zoo called it quits. If only they'd (and you might know, have they by now?) cut the Avery open above the Camden canal.
I hope you have seen all the news, it appears, the individuals may have tuanted the beatiful tiger, geez, it should be a learning lesson, regardless who is at fault, don't taunt any animal, it is an animal they will be aggressive.
...and yes, these beautiful animals should be left where they live...that may be the true crime.
Hej där , Blomma !Yes, basically, yer right , all wildlife should be left in its natural habitat. BUT : There are so many species now dat are bein threatened wid total extinction (because of human greed and stupidity ) and then zoos may be the only means of savin dem . But please please please no CAGES ! What most experts advocate is Safari Parks wid vast tracts of land where our friends may roam comparatively ´free´. Expensive ? Sure , but we may well pay thru our noses . If we don´t save our wildlife , humankind is doomed too/ Luv ye, Flower / Pete
