Kicking The Habit

Well, I have not been to the gym for nearly a week and I've lost 5 pounds. Amazing but I think i have one of those bodies that swells when I work out, get's bigger and then gets smaller-where's the fun in that? Anyway I'm not going to worry about my body anymore, that is what men are for. Just kidding. That shot on the right is at my lowest adult weight and I look, for me , boyish. The left is me right now as I go back into Pilates school for the next semester. Internships and certifications in this method take a long time or else you just end up being a personal trainer. Pilates is the Harvard Law School degree equivalent of a certification in fitness. (photoshop by Justin K)

Go Amanda, you can do it! Whatever it is you are trying to do, which I'm not entirely sure by your post . . .

I've been training for the Chicago marathon, which goes on October 9th. I haven't lost any weight, somehow, probably due to the fact that I've started throwing some Tequila into my Gatorade on weekends. (It's not a bad margarita mix!)

BTW, have you heard of a Brazilian band called "The Mosquitos"? They have a new album on iTunes called Sunshine Barato. The 14th track, "The End ing" is a cross between Blind Melon and The Who. It's got that explosive early Who sound, with a dead-on Entwistle/Moon sound.

Amanda, that's cool. Nice to find more Townshend fans here in the Bay Area!

I've worked on a project with Pete and have known him for years. He's even cooler than people think. One of my all time heros!

I'm still trying to find my way through the Blogger business.

Rock Out!

Amanda, I've been lurking on Rachel's blog for a week or so and enjoy reading your comments almost as much as Rachel's posts. I was super-psyched to see Justin's comment there, too, and followed it to his new blog. Tons of freakshows out there so it's refreshing to read what the three of you've got online. Even better is the Pete Townshend/Grateful Dead circle! Cheers from a new friend in Chicago (formerly from Los Angeles and missing the warm weather as we're about to slide on into freezing crap here.)

Deep inside of every human being is this feeling that nothing is ever going to be complete, that the circle will never connect – and that itself is the secret to infinity.

Amanda....I know your pain. I use Pilates methods in my teaching and swear by it for injury! It with Massage Therapy healed my back and allowed me to skip surgery.

Keep up the hard work and study, it is so worth it when you are done!

Thanks for the nice comment on my blog as well.

Have a lovely weekend - M.
